My Favorite Web Sites

My name is Laura LaPointe, and I'm writing my first blog,.  I'm married and have three very talented kids.  Two, who are very talented artists, and one who is  a senior this year, is also a very talented writer.
I work during the day full-time as a certified nursing assistant while attending Manchester Community College in the evenings.  I always wanted to go back to school and get my degree.  It's not easy, but hopefully some day it will be worth it.  Meanwhile, I'm learning a lot, and I have a very supporting family.  My husband is also very busy.  He works full time, and is co-owner of a karate school where he teaches three nights a week.  That doesn't leave me much time to surf the Internet, but there are some sites that do interest me.
My favorite things are food, wine, and traveling. Not necessarily in that order, but when My husband and I have time to go out, I enjoy good food and a good glass of wine, or a cold beer!  There is a web site that I discovered  on Web 2.0 that features a virtual bar where people can interact with other wine lovers, and compare and share their thoughts on different wines.
As far as food, there was this web site I visited while trying to find a recipe for corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day.  It turned out to be amazing.  They had links to at least one hundred different recipes for Irish drinks, side dishes, and delicious desserts. But my favorite site is Racheal Ray Recipes.  I even have a few of her cookbooks.
I also love to travel. I especially love the beach,  so beachery.com on the web 2.0 site was nice.  It showed videos of different beach resorts, and what they had to offer, plus links to different restaurants and entertainment in the area.

My Dog Mocha

My dog Mocha is a great dog.  She may be old, but she is the most loyal and best watch dog you can ever have.  She is a chocolate lab who loves to go hunting and swimming.

7 Effective Wiki Uses

Several major companies use Wikis as a main collaboration hub for employees and their customers.  It's a great tool in a fast paced work environment where you can easily see what other people are working on.  You can make changes quickly or add new content to a page easily.  It's also good for building an on-line commnunity which makes it easier to share ideas and information from anywhere.
